Fibro and scarring

Good morning;
    For as long as I ca remember, I've had the tendency to scar. It doesn't matter how small or large the injury, you can bet I'm going to have a scar afterward. I had 3 major surgeries on my right knee, but he used the same incision each time. I have about a 9 inch scar that goes down my knee and it looks lie it has been all hacked up. Two months ago I was in the back acres of our land, and came in close contact with a hill of fre ants. I had to strip my pants off right there. The dang things almost eat me up. They are just now healing and my right leg looks like it's been hit with buckshot.

     Has anyone else had the problem with excessive scarring? I even had to take some pretty strong antibiotics to make sure I didn't get infection in my replaced knee.

Yes i can relate! I scar in a strange way ( i think). For example 3 months ago i was bitten by a small dog on my wrist, it didnt break the skin but it did dent in far and bruesed well. Now i have a little line and a dot were the bite accourd, when i get cold the scar shows up more. I was on my horse months ago and hit the barrel (i am in no way proffesional) with my lower leg and it brused thats all just a bruse! Now it remains a different color than the rest of my leg. It stays kinda redish and when i get cold it turns red to purple. Is this a fybro thing or something ealse?? I cant find any littiture on this. Does any one know about why this happens oh and my scars remain painful. I fell 8 years ago, it swelled and bruised and it is still swollen and feels bruised. iI have 3 areas like that, were i had a injury and the swelling has remained for years.

HI....I too have that issue...the last two yrs that I went camping....the mosqutos (sp?) were only biting me...and I got large welts like never b4 and it took forever for the welts to go away.

small scratches last for months....and sometimes yrs.

My DH calls me a peach...because of how I bruise and heal.

Thanks Breezy, m legs look awful, but I still wear shorts around the house, wouldn't dare go out in public in them tho, people would probably run. I've never been allergic to the pesky devils, but this time was totally different. They usually leave a tiny little blister, this time they were larger than a kitchen match head. And Lord did they hurt. And the pain in each bite was deep. Like I said, I stripped out of my shorts right out there for God and everybody to see, but they were all over me.ewwwwwwww!! Thanks for the reply.

I'm the same way.  It also applies to healing anything...scratches, bruises, etc.  I believe it has to do with the decreased growth hormones that occur with fibromyalgia.  

With the ants, it's likely that you had a reaction to the bite (allergic).  My husband has an awful time with mesquito bites....much moreso than I do.  I also have scratches all over my arms from my cat.  I thought they would eventually go away, but they haven't.
