Robyn,
Thanks so much for your response. I did laugh when I got out of his office.
Fibro was one if the first things I asked my PCP some years ago when she diagnosed me with SIJ Dysfunction. She said absolutely not. I also brought this the possibility of Fibro with the many specialists I consulted....they said the same, "Absolutely not." So now comes a PMP that didn't even read my medical records who says I have Fibro in my hiney!!
When he did a brief exam on by gluteal area he also said I had oversensitivity in the area due to narcotic usage. I know this can happen...but it's not a fact in my gluteal area. That one I did challenge him on and said, "No. My SIJ is out of alignment. When it's in proper alignment I don't have the sensitivity." He said, "I don't understand how that works BUT I do know it works." So I respected him for that admission.
Yes I am concerned he may mess everything up. for right now I will stay with him but this fall I will probably change. We plan on making this area our permanent home and I am not confident with his diagnostic skills at this point.
Again Thanks so much for your input. It's exactly what I expected.....my hiney does not have Fibro. :o)

Hi Tuck! I'm glad to hear you found a PMP that you could respect and felt comfortable with. However, I literally would have had to have laughed in his face if he told me that I had fibro in the hiney!!
Now keep in mind I'm only going by what I've read, been told, experienced - but I have NEVER heard of fibro being in ONLY one part of the body. I've been diagnosed with fibro (along with other chronic pain issues) now for about 12 years or so (even though my doctors felt I probably "had" it for several more before my diagnosis) - and as I said, from everything I've been told, read, experienced, etc., fibro is definitely more widespread than that. In fact, one of the "criteria" for diagnosis IS widespread pain that happens on both sides of the body, both above and below the waist that has continued for a minimum of three months. While it is possible with fibro to have certain areas of your body hurt more than others at times, I have never heard of it only being present in one area.
My hope is that your new PMP, based on his "new diagnosis", doesn't change your current pain management regime and end up causing you more pain. You've been through all the tests, been through trial and error with treatments - and you know what works best. I hope he will listen to you about that and continue on the same course that your previous doctor did.
Is there any other PMPs in the area that you could possibly make an appointment with?

P.S. I hope you had a wonderful visit with Namnam!
