Doctors, Doctors, and more Doctors!`

I feel like I need to get a new PCP and I know I have to find a new doctor for my pain management. This is such a stressful area for me, and I don't know what to do to make sure I don't end up in a situation that has become a variety of doctors shrugging their shoulders without anything to help matters. I just seem to be getting worse and desperately want a doctor or group of doctors that all believe in treating me in the same manner. Currently I have doctors that don't like how I am being treated by other doctors I see.

Suffering with chronic pain and or Fibromyalgia is literally a pain in the rear end when it comes to finding a good doctor. You may want to consider seeing a "fibro- friendly" Rheumatologist. You can find one by searching the provider database on the National Fibromyalgia Association's website. This is where I found my doctor. There web address is:

http://www.fmaware.org/

They do require you to register, but registration is free and the site has lots of good information and tools. I hope this helps.

Sorry to hear what your going through! But don't feel alone. We with cronic pain go through the try and try again phase with docs. I am currently seeing 2 pain clinics lol. One is treating my cervical and the other my spinal and hips (pretty redundent). All cause they couldn't agree on a course of treatment. So the patient suffers. If you are one of the lucky ones like i was before i had to go on medical card. You can find a good MD that will also be your pain doc. When i get my ssi passed i will be going back! So in a nut shell to answer you question. It's like buying a new car. You test drive it first same way with docs. I know i have went through plenty myself and pretty sur most in this forum have to. So you are not alone! And welcome to the forum.
