Pins & Needles Pain
I havent been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, trying to get some kind of diagnosis, I have flare ups where I have this pins and needless prickling stinging pain all over my body, even my face. I can't stand for somebody to walk across the floor or touch me, My clothes even irritate me. I have numbness in my feet and legs. Anybody have these symptoms?

I'm not a doctor nor a specialist, but like you, I was a newbie when I was diagnosed 2 1/2 yrs ago. I had no idea what fibro was. It is a not so much a disease as it is a syndrome of symptoms, which vary from day to day, month to month, and so on. It sounds like to me you are experiencing nerve pain that comes from the fibro. Many fibromites are put on Lyrica, but my doc put me on Neurontin (generic brand is gabapentin). He started me out at 100 mg/day, but after a yr & half I'm up to 1200 mg/day. Sounds like a lot, but my quality of life has dramatically improved. I was having all the classic symptoms. I was bedridden for a year. I was severely depressed, largely due to my living circumstances, but the fibro make it 100 times worse. I was suicidal, except for my 9-10 yr old son. I found strength to fight for him. I also had the symptoms of being uncomfortable to touch, and sex wasn't a lot of fun for me during those times, but I love my husband very much, and he has been very supportive of me, so I compromised to the best of my ability. He was always very gentle and loving. I am very fortunate. I am also taking 225 mg of Effexor a day due to severe recurrent major depression, which I've suffered with since my parents divorced in 1984. I didn't realize it caused PTSD, but now people are so much more aware. The neurontin (or lyrica or whatever you & your doctor agree works for you) should help your skin sensitivity, and if you have sleep problems, it will help that too, although you may still need some kind of sleep aid. I know I did. That was one of my worst problems. That and fatigue. For the first couple of years, stiffness upon waking, low stamina, weakness, and fatigue just took over my life. I still have symptoms, but now I know which meds generally work for me. I'm sending you my prayers and best wishes. This is a long, hard journey, and I know I'm very fortunate, as you will read many horror stories, but please remember mine, because a better quality of life is still possible. :)

I have it too and have the fibro dx. I have trouble explaining how it feels sometimes, almost like a sunburn at times. Clothing irritates it too, such as the sleeves on a t-shirt rubbing or jeans on my thighs sometimes. Light touch irritates it more than firm touch. A blowing fan (air conditioning in a car or open window) sometimes hurts, or a hot shower hurts. It is the weirdest thing, and very difficult to explain to someone who doesn't experience it themselves. Not sure if it is the same for you, if so you are not alone. Hope this helps????

i have these symptoms and i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 years ago, and mine has got worse my back is going mad and my hips , i feel like my whole body is bruise as its sore to touch me anywhere i hope has help you a bit .
