Is it possible for me to have FIBRO

Hello everyone. I have a question. I recently became ill. I am usually a very healthy person. I workout 4 times a week. I am fairly active on the weekends. I usually don't get sick. I got sick with a sore throat that progressed to bronchitis. I was sick for about a week before I went to the ER (no health insurance). What sent me to the ER was the fact that I was having sever joint and muscle pain....ankles/calves/ knees/quads(close to knees)/wrists/forearms/shoulders/back/neck. The worst of the pain was in my right forearm and was so bad that I thought I may have broken my arm although there was no swelling. I went to ER the doc said that the pain was probably from the fever. I explained to him that they took my temp and I had no fever. He said that this didn't matter. He gave me a prescription for Doxycycline. This has cleared my 'sickness' right away, but the pain remains. I started to think back and almost a year ago I went to the doc for chronic fatigue/ they did blood tests and couldn't find anything wrong. Around the same time I went to the ER for chest pains they couldn't find anything. I have experienced pain for quite sometime now and always thought it was a result of working out but the pain and the fatigue are almost dabilitating. I experience my worst pains at night when I am sleeping. I will get throbbing pain in my hips/shoulders/elbows along with numbness and tingling. Is it possible that I could have Fibromyalgia? I am a 25 year old male?

I have almost the EXACT same thing.  ALL of the same pains except the hips.  I just posted it in the 'undiagnosed' forum.  I'm a healthy 37yo male who works out.  The only difference from you is that I didn't get sick, and most of the pain goes away when I'm sleeping except the neck pain.  I hope we both find out what's wrong.

Before you settle on CFS/FM - have you been adequately checked for lyme?  If Doxycycline helped, then this may be treatable with a longer run of antibiotics.  You'll need to find knowledgable doctors which isn't that easy, but it's important to find someone who really understands lyme (there's an organization for it.)  Also, a good infectious diseases doctor to look for other pathagens, and rhemotologist.  As you check around if you need to know more, let us know...

I also have pain in joints in hands this could be related to typing all day though. I dunno. I am very tired and sometimes fall asleep at work. I remember back in college I would always fall asleep in class. Like almost every day. The pain I am experiencing is a soreness/throbbing pain in joints and a sharp almost cramp-like pain in my muscles. It also feels as if though the ligaments/tendons in my arms have been shortened so that every move of my wrist is stretching them beyond their normal limits!
