sleeping problems

Hi everyone, I am starting to develope a real problem sleeping! even when I am so tired at night that I can hardly stay awake, I can't stay asleep either!! what is up with that? I would think that all the narcotics I tak all day & night would help with sleep, but they don't seem too! Does anyone else have such problems?? If so, do u take any meds to sleep? I was wondering about talking to my doc about something to help me sleep, but I really don't want to start taking any more meds than I need!! Ya know!?!?

Hello, thanks for the advice! My mothr-in-law used to take trazadone, she said it helped her sleep. I think I'm gonna try to talk to my dr. about it next thursday when I go back!  Best Wishes, Brandy

Go for the trazadone.  It has been, by far, the best sleeping aid I have taken.  Some nights I have to take two and that's ok, but, one usually does the trick.  The drugs that I take during the day don't make me go to sleep, they just make me sleepy.  At night I do the trazadone, clonazepam ( anxiety disorder), cyclobenzapren, flexeril, 2mg. potassium tablet, aspirin (My heart) two Lyrica and one Tramadol.  I fear that I will be on all of this medication for the rest of my days. Brandy, I have had the same problem. The sleeping difficulties. It's a common CFS symptom, and common with Fibro as well. I don't have as much difficulty falling asleep as I used to but I have a terrible time staying asleep. And often I feel like I'm more tired when I wake up than when I went to bed in the first place.

Because I have had severe panic disorder, and depression as a result, I don't keep sleeping pills anywhere around. Not narcotic ones anyway. I do use NatraBio's homeopathic sleep aide on really tough nights.

I have also found that Rescue Remedy spray helps me to relax and sleep easier. And a massage is a great way to loosen those muscles and get your body in the mood t sleep.

I also take alot of narcotics during the day, however they don't help me with sleep.  My dr has perscribed Ambien for sleep and that seems to work.  Still have some problems due to the pain, but I do sleep better.

Good Luck

I know you don't want to take more medications, but there is a medication that may be able to help you. You may want to ask your physician about Desyrel (Trazodone)

Good Luck !
