body aches

Well this question is not really for me but for my mother. My mother is 43 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 6 years ago. She had begun taking steroids in the beginning but then she stopped. She then went on an ayurvedic (ancient Indian methods) medicines. These did help and she has been fine. But recently the pain has begun to come back. She says that its durable and she can get through it. But here is my question. Would exercise help the pain? My mother says that when she exercises the pain ends up getting worse. My mother really wants to begin exercising again.

Pool therapy is very therapeutic for individuals who have Fibro. I am starting on Monday and looking forward to it. Also yoga is good for Fibro. Not an aggressive yoga, but something that you can do from a DVDs at home.  Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

pool is good because the warm water is soothing and i takes the weight off your tired body - until you get out - but thats the best place to do excersize - the best excersize for fibro is walking - all systems get help from this - and gentle stretching is important - slowly - i watched a yoga tape from the library for seniors and physically challenged and found one of my fav. stretches on it - i swear it stretches every muscle attached to your spine - amazing - i can try to explain it if you want - but im not very good at that sort of thing
good luck
