Anyone Out There?

I was just diagnosed last week with Fibromyalgia and am looking for someone who knows what this is like -the pain!  I am 33 and feel like I am 83.  I want my life back.  I want to get out of bed without wrenching in pain.  I want to be able to come home from work and just start dinner without dreading how I can stand that long.  I want to be able to dump my bottle of pain meds down the toilet.  I just want to be normal again.  Anyone out there that feels like this?

Hi FM sufferers,
I too have been diagnosed with either FM or chronic fatigue. I have fatigue but i never crash, i have just got severe muscle pain.
I have found that SAMe works great for me, it really helps with the depression, I found that i was laughing once again after just two weeks. i also take lots of magnesium. What you can also do is cut out any known or unkown foods that may be upsetting your stomach, you will have already noticed that you cant tolerate certain things anymore, this is all part of the disorder. If you change your ways, you will be able to tolerate the pain a lot better without resorting to heavy pain meds.

Cheers
Kristin

It is nice to meet you.  But, I truly hope that it is under different circumstances though.

Eldermom and Luckydzack are right, one thing for sure is that you're not alone in this and we all know. the pain you're going through.

It is very hard to make aware the lives we led before will no longer......we will have to make lots and lots of changes to adapt and accept our limits.  Meanwhile, remember you're among friends who understand.

Hugs,
Kit.

I have had fibro for 21 years. Here is what makes days comfortable: low yeast/sugar diet, probiotics, low stress, low oxalate diet. Foods high in oxalates such as chocolate ,etc make for a very painful next 48 hours. No caffeine and no city water. This all sounds restrictive but nothing is more restrictive than PAIN and meds. Do your research , test for airborn and food allergies . Good luck. Keep a journal as to what affects you. The hardest for me is limiting my sugar and oxalate foods ,but fibro does not get easier as one gets older unless one behaves diet wise.My foods and lifesyle is lean, mean, green and clean .

Yes, we are all probably feeling that way. I was diagnosed in Jan. with FM but my doc figures I have been suffering with it for the past 24 years. I was misdiagnosed over the years with lupus, hepatitis & rheumatoid arthritis. Which I have none of the. This flare up started in October for me, the worst one I have ever had. My doc put me off of work in Feb. I told him I just couldn't do it anymore. I could barely sit, stand or laydown without electrifying pain up my spine, down my legs, into my butt cheeks, my shoulders, neck, hands, jaw. Well you know the rest. What has your doc perscribed for pain meds. I am on 45 mg of morphine 2x day & that just makes the pain barable doesn't take it away.
You will find loads of people here that will talk to you about this monster you are living with. You are not alone, there are thousands of us here for you to cry on our shoulders & talk to. Welcome to our neighborhood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
