I have had Fibromyalgia for 7 years and some of the symptoms you to escribe sound like this. With Fibro you also can have widspread muscle pain, sleep disturbance, fibro fog which makes thinking difficult. Make an appointment to see your doctor who may then refer you to a rheumatologist who will hopefully be able to helpl.

Sorry that your in pain , & totally understand the Dr. Shift .It is a long battle. Please do try to stay possitive nomatter what. That at the end of your day is what gets you through!

Do want to say today seems harder then the last 3 or so weeks for myself, haveing a hard time typing.ugh..
geminigirl1963 has made the most since to me in ,,,well anyways YES AS you say -
fibro pain also typically involves the hips, knees, etc - it usually emcompasses not only both sides of the body pretty equally (not to say that one side couldn't hurt worse than the other), but also including areas both above and below the waist line (again, not saying that the pain in the upper areas couldn't be worse than the lower areas

Gimi, Could this be a hypen effect in pain levels due to stress from surgery?  FIBRO

OK so this brings me to the next ?  Now I've had a Dr. ,, one of the smarter of many that I have been through my self  2 of them say to me Fibro is secondary to ... something useually.Do you agree w/ that personally? I have been in circle's about this.

The Fibro the feeling like I said up above ^  It is a very heavy feeling like the flu, a bad case of it.Right now in my bottom half ,hips, lower back and down around the knees ache into the feet ache...It's very surpressing,it fuels the depression, top half hurts as well. The bottom half seems to be the worst of the two,if I had to pick between the 2 .

I wanted to make sure in this last paragraph, was in detail ,I as many I'm sure has looked for more of ( words of comparison ) oh and no 2 people are alike but sx can be very much the same ( feeling ).

MEDICAITIONS - UGH,I have no advice nor do i understand.A good Dr. Will .

  Ladypar72  Good luck to you.

Some of your pain does sound like it could be fibro - the pain being in both arms, shoulders, etc. - and the fact that it's gone on for 4 months (one of the "criteria" for a fibro diagnosis is that the pain has lasted more than 3 months).  However, fibro pain also typically involves the hips, knees, etc - it usually emcompasses not only both sides of the body pretty equally (not to say that one side couldn't hurt worse than the other), but also including areas both above and below the waist line (again, not saying that the pain in the upper areas couldn't be worse than the lower areas, but it's typically felt in all of it)

Do you know exactly where the narrowing and spurs were on your xray/mri?  It's possible that these are causing the pain in your arms, shoulders and neck.  It's definitely possible to have a neck "problem", but feel the pain elsewhere, such as the arms.

It's unfortunate that there are still many doctors that don't believe that fibro is a real illness.  I would suggest, if you can, to try and see a rheumatologist - they tend to deal with fibro patients more often than regular gp docs.  However, when you're searching for a rheumy doc, be sure and ask them if the do treat fibro patients - not all of them do  They will more than likely review your xrays and mri (or perhaps order new ones), and do blood work to check to see if there is something else going on.

I'm sorry the therapy didn't help - I had the same experience when I was first diagnosed - I was sent to PT, which only GREATLY increased my pain (that's also common with fibro).

Just to let you know also, that it's totally true that pain meds and muscle relaxers will "wear out" as you say - even long acting medications have a "stopping point" - that's why they are prescribed not as a one-time medication dose, but usually at least a couple of times a day.  I don't know what medications you've been on, but if you've foudn that the short-acting medications aren't giving you enough relief, you may want to discuss the possibility of putting you on a longer acting med with your doc.  There are several out there that work well.

Best of luck - try to keep your chin up - I know it's hard - if it is fibro that you're dealing with, it's a very frustrating illness - one day you're able to do something and then the next day, the very same activity could put you in bed for the rest of the day or even for a couple of days.

I'm here to talk anytime you'd like and also answer any questions you may have (I'll try to answer them anyway!)

Take care!
