inflammation? lots of questions

i was recently diagnosed with fibro.  have i think every single symtom.  maybe some that aren't common?  i have inflammation in my lungs, esophagus (eosoiniphilic esophagitis), and in abdominal lymph nodes.  is inflammation common with fibro?  is there something else hiding there?  my rheumotologist wouldn't answer my questions.  is there a way to find out what is causing this inflammation?  my pulmonologist or gastroenterologist don't know either.  i thought inflammation was the rheum area of expertise?  are there tests that can be done?  i've been to an allergist, and no uncommon allergies.  grass, trees, pollen, and mold.  we've recently moved and found a ton of mold in our old home when we moved out.  could long term exposure to mold be causing this?  we've only been out a month, but lived there for 4 years.  if it were mold, would the symptoms be reversible?  or has the damage been done?  please, please help.

No inflammation is not common with fibro.  Tests are usually normal in fibro. You may want to get tested for lyme disease as well since it is endemic in your state.  It sounds like you may have already had a work up for some of the rheum., autoimmune diseases.  I had mold in my house too but I did not get better after I had it removed and my husband is fine so in my case I don't think it is the mold.  There are different strains of mold though.

I am so sorry to hear about all that you have been through. Inflammation is not common with Fibromyalgia, but joint inflammation is common with other Rheumatic diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus.

Do you know if your Rheumatologist tested your SED rate, your C-reactive protein, your Rheumatoid Factor or performed an ANA screen on you? If so do you know the results of these tests?

It sounds like, from what you mentioned, that the inflammatory markers that you have in your body are different from what a Rheumatologist would consider applicable to joint inflammation. That could be why she diagnosed you with Fibromyalgia and not RA or Lupus, but I could be wrong and not seeing the total picture here.

As far as the mold in your home goes...What did the allergist say about it??? I would be curious? Did you have someone test the mold to see if it was a toxic kind? Was anyone else in the house sick from it? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks and welcome to you.
