My costochondritis was initially diagnosed and treated by an internal med specialist - I chose an internal med specialist because I wanted someone that could also rule out other conditions that have similar symptoms such as cardiac all in one place rather than being sent from specialist to speciallist.  The doctor tried a variety of treatments such as various meds and cortisone injections - all of which were ineffective.  What worked well was indocin (to help with inflammation), potassium and magnesium (my levels were low), and physical therapy using a technique designed specifically to treat costochondritis.  I don't recall the name of the technique, it was something like neuro muscular re-education, but will look for it and post if I find it.

Hey schwartz6988.

Probably a Reumie, if you follow the conventional medical route.
If I was going through it ( in my case it was Somatoform Pain Disorder )
with what I know now, I would have chosen a Naturopathic Doctor.
If you want some holistic advice please post at the alternative therapies section,
or message me directly (as per forum rules).
Hang in there. I know what you're going through. But there are things you can do.
You will feel better soon!
