make sure that the home is warm and well ventilated and avoiding naps has so far worked quite well for me.
the journal is good too but hard to do when you are fogged up.
getting clothing just right was a problem too at first. i get cold easily and i sweat if too warm.
once i have found something that works i stick with it religiously.
smells are a trigger with me perfumes, air fresheners, bin liners, fresh paint, spices, pesticides, smoke.

STRESS........stress.......and more STRESS. Feeling overwhelmed, and alone. Overdoing it. Hot weather (opposite of most for whom cold weather is a trigger). Junk food. Too little sleep. Forgetting my meds (Lyrica/Cymbalta/Flexeril). Needing a B-12 shot. Arguments. Certain foods (I'm still finding out which ones they are.) Isolation.
Keeping a pain journal helps in narrowing down the list of possible triggers. Consider trying Cymbalta and/or Lyrica; they are the best there is, for pain, right now, I think.
I can relate to all of the above, thank you, I thought that the three cans of Chocolates over Christmas may have had something to do with the pain, but I wasn't sure, and over doing it is my middle name, then Christmas and Stress well you can't have one without the other, As you can see I'm felling better today, but I do thank you, we just get in so deep that we can't see the forest for the trees, thanks again
Hi. Just joined forum, but I've had fibromyalgia for over 18 years. LLWB gave all the answers I would have. We just got a terrible snow storm- well, terrible for our area- and I am all locked up! Over eating sugar is the only thing I would add. I have read it acidifies the body and causes inflammation. All that fudge, divinity and Santa's cookies have caught up with me and I'm miserable too.
I know this is not your question and I'm still researching this, but ginger and nutmeg are anti- inflammatory, and I'm sure you already know Ibuprofen and Naproxen are helpful. Avocados are good at nuetralizing the body and decreasing inflammation. So, go to On the Border or another Mex. Place and get some good Guac, to go. I'm sorry you are having such a terrible time. . .
There are many things that cause flare-ups.something you ate, the weather, over-doing it either exercising or just pushing yourself past your limits. Stress seems to set off my flares the worse. The recent holidays with all the extras we do might have been a cause. Have you tried Lyrica? It is really helping me with the nerve pain. Best wishes.........
