Pain on Lateral side of right foot especially after walking.

Hello, I have a very painful right foot at the fifth metatarsel below my little toe. If I am inactive for a while it generally isn't too bad, but when I have to walk for any long period it becomes agony especially when I stand up, or in the morning. I am walking a lot at the moment; and this is obviously the cause, but I have bought soles for my shoes but I still get a sharp pain in the same place on the lateral side of my  right foot. Oh, I don't think it's fractured because I can generaly walk on it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Patrick.

I would get an x-ray to rule out a stress fracture or bone tumor.  People still can walk on the foot with a stress fracture.

Try MBT shoes Patrick.  They are expensive but I have had good luck with them for my patients with your problem
