What ever happened to Dr. Max Gomez and how is his surgeon?

I was doing some Googling and found a review in 2015 by Dr. Max Gomez of CBS news, of his Nissen Fundoplication surgery.  He seems to no longer work for CBS news.

I cannot help wondering how he is today and am trying to find out. I don't suppose anyone here knows?

Also, does anyone have any familiarity with the surgeon he used from NYU? Dr. Bizekis? He seems to have a good writeup online.

How are you managing this diagnosis. PPIs, diet, Seems a bit confusing to me.
