GERD (w/ Hiatal Hernia) vs. Hypertension

I have a diagnosed case of GERD (w/ hiatal hernia) about 5 years ago. Symptoms gradually subsides until now.
Currently I am diagnosed with 1st stage hypertension (140/90 or higher blood pressure). Now my reflux is also getting stronger, I regain taking Nexium. My question is: How risky my health (cardiovascular) is compare with those hypertensive people who doesn't have GERD?

GERD does not influence the course of hypertension.
So you have the same risk as hypertensives without GERD.

But doesn't it seem like my GERD (during reflux) is aggravating my hypertension,
adding risk to a stroke or event of aneurism?

How about my Hiatal Hernia? I was informed that the final solution for this is surgery.
How true is it? Will all my GERD symptoms be gone for good? How about short/long term side effects & complications?
