I'm doing much better but....

For 6 weeks now I've been having gastric symptoms which my Dr thought was acid reflux. I had a full barium swallow test was was all normal except for indications of a small hiatal hernia. Anyway since then I have drastically modified my diet and been on prilosec.

For weeks now I have not had anything like the problems I had before. In fact I havegone for several days withno symptoms at all. But recently there is a pattern where I have gas and some cramps (although not nearly as bad as before) starting around 4am. Also stomach growling (weird noises really). By noon it is usually all gone and I'm fine for the restof the day.

What confuses me is that this happens 8 hrs or so since I have eaten. So it can't be food/digestion triggering it, right? What else would trigger it at 4am? Is there anything I can do, and is in indicative of something else entirely? Thanks in advance!

Well, have you heard of others with acid reflux who had flareups that long after eating? Or is that unusual?
