Question about which meds to take

Hi, I have acid reflux that comes back from time to time if I am not careful with my lifestyle (eating habits, diet, etc)

Recently, my gerd started acting up again but this time I didn't have abdominal pains, only heartburn and nausea that's really bothering me. I went to a GI and she prescribed me with nexium in the morning (I usually take nexium everytime my gerd acts up) and zantac in the evening before bedtime.

The next day, we went to my pulmonologist for my routine checkup, since I had primary spontaneous pneumothorax  last november. After my usual checkup, I told him about my heartburn and he didn't agree with what the GI prescribed me with, and he advised me to omit zantac and instead take motilium and mucosta (rabimipide) before mealtimes, together with the nexium in the morning.

My condition has improved since the 1st day I took nexium, but for some reason I'm still having doubts with my new prescription. I want to follow the prescription of my GI instead, especially that my evening symptoms seem to be going back. She gave me the zantac for this particular reason. I experience nausea at night but I cannot take any meals anymore.

Which do you think is more effective? Should I just continue taking nexium, motilium and mucosta? Or should I switch to zantac? Can I still continue taking motilium even with zantac? I'm not really sure if mucosta is necessary in my case but my heartburns have been quite painful at times.

In case I should switch to zantac, can I do it right away? Can I switch to the first prescription right away tomorrow? I would probably be taking motilium still anyway

Thanks medhelp!

U should ask the " pulmonologist " why they felt the change was needed, it may have to do with ur condition or other meds u r already on....so talk to ur Dr about this and if u can not reach them talk with ur pharmacist they have a better understanding on how meds work and react to other meds..
