Dyspepsia - pain when I excercise

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the ofllowing question.

6 months ago I was told by my doctor that I had dyspepsia (due to cocaine and drink problem - I am now clean) and the pain has slowly vanished but 3 weeks ago I started back at the gym and after a weight session the pain in my left side reappears. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar pain and if so how do you manage it?

I'm not sure if its a slight chest muscle strain or related to my dyspepsia.

There is no pain in any other type of excercise ( bike, cross trainer etc) - just weights.

I have had various tests (liver, blood etc) with the doctor and they have all come back negative.  I am now living a clean life and also eating healthy.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

Thanks for your response.

I have kept away from alcohol, spicy foods, soda etc.

My diet consists of fruit, veg and meat. I have made no major diet changes but its just the pain when I excercise - its really annoying me as I just want to know how to manage it.

I am going to see a physio, so will raise the hernia suggestion

Its defo not stressed related as my job is stree free.

Thanks :)

Hi...many meds will cause GERD and reflux or Dyspepsia also known as indigestion.

Healthy eating is not always a instant fix...what do u mean by healthy?

Do u eat fatty foods, spicy foods, drink alcohol..soda?

U may have something in ur diet that u consider ok, that can be triggering this issue.

Try keeping a journal of what u eat and how u feel and see if it points to a trigger...also make note if u were stressed out that day as stress  can affect this as well.

The only other thing u may want to inquire about is a possible hiatal hernia, as u mentioned u feel the issue when u exercise, and that  could indicate a hernia.
