Hy , there is 2 forms of LPR - one is done by acid , so you should have pirozis , burns on your chest and you should treat it with PPI medication , and another form , when you do not have the classic symptoms of GERD , and you should talk with a neurologyst about the laryngeal sensory neuropathy; or "post viral vagal neuropathy".In this case there is a medication anti-depressive that could help with the substance amitriptilin . Attention , on the second case of LPR , if you get PPI drogs , it wil hep you at the beggining , but it will make much worse on your symptoms by a long term. Florin
Hi and welcome to the GERD forum,
Foods to avoid typically are spicy, acidic foods, as well as carbonated and alcoholic bevs....as well as those with caffeine.....
Chocolate is out , even smoking is out.....so no vices...
Keep a journal on what you eat and how you feel as we all may have different triggers....
Stress is also a trigger....so change some life style habits....no laying down for 3 to 4 hrs after you eat....exercise and get a good 8 hrs of sleep.
You can also elevate the head of the bed to help keep acids down where they belong.....
Chewing gum can help break down the acids....and may help your throat out a bit....
What meds did they put you on?
