Nexium vs. Aciphex

I have been on Nexium for at least 3 years now.  I no longer can afford it.  My dr suggests switching to Aciphex.  Can you tell me if that is as good as Nexium?  My insurance will cover it as they would not the Nexium.

My husband was originally on Aciphex, but placed on Nexium after our insurance stopped covering aciphex and he was miserable. Aciphex has always worked so much better for him. Finally, after a year of misery he's back on aciphex and so much happier. I hope it works as well for you.

I think it really depends on the person. I've tried Prilosec, Nexium and Aciphex, all for extensive periods of time. My # 1 all-time fave is Nexium, and Aciphex is also very effective. Prilosec doesn't seem to work as well. Just my experience.

Thanks for your help.  Knowing someone takes Aciphex and it works, especially after trying Nexium, really makes me feel more confident in trying Aciphex.  I started on Aciphex last night and am on my 2nd tablet today.  Hope it works for me too.  And hope it continues to work for your husband as well.  Have a nice day.

Hi,
Nexium contains Esomeprazole and Aciphex constains Rabeprazole.
Both are equally effective.
