Premiee & acid reflex

Mother had high blood pressure during pregency.  Baby was taken by C-section seven weeks early as mother's kidneys and liver shutting down from high blood pressure.  Baby is now almost four months old and on special premiee formual which doctors say will be on for at least baby's first year.  Eats about every three hours, cries/screams for at least an hour after eating with body language as to stomack(?) pain.  Throws-up a lot!  Upper GI done showing no problems.  Is there something the mother can do to help ease baby's pain?  Is to see a speicalist in about a week.
Thank-you,
Granny_M

I'm guessing this is Neosure? This stuff is loaded with sugar, bad for reflux.  Don't be fooled about the whole thing that the baby has to be on it for a whole year.  My Cally was born 8 weeks early at 3lbs 9oz and we discontinued neosure after 1 month and put her on goat milk.  Not only did her reflux disappear (until she got a cold, she still had bouts) but she is bigger than alot of babies older than her.  She should be 8 months old and she's over 20lbs.

I sympathize with you.  See my story on Sept 17 My grandson is now 6 months old - still spits up a lot - we mix a Tbs of rice cereal with an oz of formula - seems to help keep the formula down.  He also takes "bethanicol"  may not be spelled correctly - it makes the formula leave his stomach sooner - therefore lessoning the amount he spits up and the other thing we tried with success -- Colic Calm - as suggested by another member of the forum- it definitely seems to sooth him.  Another suggestion given to us was to feed him less but more often
