A barium meal should have demonstrated acid reflux if you had it (at least it did with mine). But it's not like an EGD where a doctor actually takes a scope and looks at your esophagus and your stomach. Gall bladder or biliary colic attacks can be set off by spicy foods - HIDA scan with ejection fraction is one of the better tests for diagnosing gallbladder problems. An MRCP is good for looking at all the biliary ducts and pancreatic ducts as well. Pancreatitis can also be very painful and make you feel sick. Gastritis flare-ups should cause the doctor to advice a clear liquid diet for 48 to 72 hours to try to calm things down- did they ever do this? You really should get to a well-qualified, experienced gastrointestinal specialist.
Also, in case there was acid reflux not showing up (and spicy and acidic foods as well as fatty and fried and dairy foods can set this off), you may want to avoid eating at least two hours before bedtime and elevate the head of your bed with a wedge under your mattress if you don't have a futon or hospital bed advantage.
Thank you so much for responding to my question.. i also want to note one more thing. i did a "berium meal" in 2008 and it showed that my stomach was normal. yet i still ecperience problem.. i have the feeling its really Gastritis because at one instance when i visited the hospital, the doctor said its symptoms reflects Gastritis.. The first tme i experienced this was when i was in college and i pepared "popchow" its a vegetable like coloured greens and it couldnt digest properly and there the drama of stomach pain started up untill today.. but the thing is i cant eat everything..nothing acidic, spicy etc. the things that dont let my stomach feel well.
