Upper Abdomen Pain

I'm a 45 yo female typically in excellent heath. Gallbladder out 2/05. Family history of colon cancer - colonoscopy 11/07 clean. H pylori test - normal, celiac test - normal,  CRP test showed inflammation. Severe diarreha 9/07 to 11/07 - has been reduced somewhat. Gastro doc diagnosed lactose intolerance as cause of diarreha. Upper abdomen pain has developed and is now often severe. Taking aciphex as prescribed - but pain persists. Also I am experiencing severe fatigue.

Should I go back to the gastro doc, my primary care or continue to remain off dairy and hope my pain subsides?  I'm tired of being in pain.

Hi FlgAnn,
Since you are not finding any relief from pain, you need to discuss with your gastro regarding further investigations.
1. Upper GI endoscopy
2. Motion examination

I would like to know if the abdominal discomfort is relieved by passing motion. If thats the case, you might be suffering from IBS.

Consult your gastro regarding this.
