Worried!!

I am worried about my symptoms. i know i will get told to go and see a doctor but thats not the answer that i am looking for. I want to see if my symptoms are because of acid relux or something more.. I have put alot of questions on here about my reflux but i guess i am always looking for more answers..

I have this constant feeling like theres like a cotton ball or something simular inside the middle of my throat.. Because of it i feel the need to swallow all day long in hopes of washing the sensation away.. I find drinking water or warm de caf tea helps but it always comes back..I also belch alot and that seems to bring on some relief but alot of  times i belch up acid and it tastes really gross...Its almost like the acid is just sitting there waiting for the right time to come up and of course certain foods or drinks will cause a bad flareup. . It has bothered me while i lay down or sleep but when i wake up its almost like the acid out of my system  untill i have a cup of coffee and it starts all over again.

Other symptoms include, sometimes clearing of throat, tight feeling of throat, slight cough, dry throat but not sore,.I also cant drink beer or smoke because it totally causes all my symptoms.

i have many symptoms of acid reflux but which one is it? i am scared to think it has anything to do with my thyroid although ive never heard of a thyroid causing acid reflux? or i doubt its anything to do with anxiety, although i do have alot of stress lately but this has come on way before the stress.

Lifestyles changes would probably help but whos to say that will work  100%.. i have tried a few things but doesnt seem to help. i am so young(25 male) i just cant imagine having something more serious. please help me

Hi...I will not tell u to see a dr...I will only tell u what I know from experience.

First u get a flare up after drinking coffee because coffee is acidic....it adds acid to ur system.Alcohol will do the same....and is y they r on a list of items to avoid with reflux.

It is possible that ur LES has a motility issue...means, the flap at the bottom of ur esophagus opens and closes slowly...by doing do, it allows acids to reflux up into ur throat and sometimes affect ur voice. It can feel like  u have something stuck......

We can not dx u, only say yes these r symptoms of reflux/GERD.....

and ur body depending on what u r eating/drinking can have good and bad days as a result of what u put into it...causing more or less acids to be produced.

Thyroid was mentioned bcuz it too can cause a lump in the throat feeling.....and could be a few others....there r many conditions that share the same symptoms, so there is no way to know for sure.U could have a hiatal hernia....

We can not tell u for sure tho....and lifestyle changes, unless u try 100%  ad keep with it u will not know if it will help.I was able to control my reflux for yrs by modifying diet and lifestyle....meds from a previous surgery put me back into a flare, but I know it is possible to relieve oneself of the symptoms...but, not all reflux has symptoms u may notice....and only meds can heal damage cause by the acid if u have this already.....

I am sorry u had a bad day...praying tomorrow is better
