Coffee intolerance?

Hello, i have GORD which is why i thought id post here.....recently, ive noticed (not all the time) that when i drink coffee, i get awful sensations in my guts. i wouldnt say it was pain but its very very very uncomfortable...thats the only way i can describe them.

So, could this simply be a coffee intolerance? i dont think its caffiene cause i drink monster lots and that doesnt effect me.


On a lighter note, my reflux has been really good, even finding that i dont have to take my meds everyday, which the doctor did say would happen and i havent really had to change my diet, tho i do try to reduce the portions i eat a little so im not too bloated.

U may want to keep a journal to see if u have other foods that affect u or if it is stress of the day ect....so u would have to keep track of how u feel...what u did as well as what u eat , drink or smoke....

Thanks selma...and it doesnt really give the usual reflux symptoms just this awful achey feeling all over my abdo, not just in my stomach.

and i use semi-skimmed milk, so it isnt full fat, but i find that dairy products usually dont effect my reflux (cream can but then thats cream.....very dairy lol)

i do have acid reflux btw lol...ive had a camera investigation and they told me that it was, so im on omeprazole 40mg to control it cause 20mg wasnt enough

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

Coffee is very acidic and those with GERD many times it an over active acid producing stomach that causes this....sometimes it is med related...other times it can be stress or poor diet.

Do u use a dairy creamer in the coffee too?

Ask ur dr to do a PH test....sometimes we feel we have GERD bcuz of the symptoms, BUT too little acid can make us feel the same with similar symptoms.
