my 8 week old son has horrible stomach cramps and is spitting up

Every since my son was born, he was had cramps. As he gets older they seem to get even worse. A couple of weeks ago he started throwing up every time he ate and was cramping really bad. After trying 5 different formula's, they put him in the hospital. They did an x-ray and ultrasound of his belly and everything came out normal. They let us out a week later and things have not improved very much.  They throwing up is now just spit-up but his cramping is horrible and it only happens after he eats. They put him on a formula called 32 32A and we have to add the sugar into it.he only gets 3% of sugar. While in the hospital, they made him go 24 hours without eating (only had an IV). That was the best night every. He didn't spit up or cramp. The minute they tried formula , it all started again. What could this be? I can't stand to see my son in so much pain!

Hi Mandy5182,
The stool examination is to rule out lactose intolerance.

Hi Mandy5182,

Was stool examination done?
Is it positive for reducing substances?
If so he might be suffering from lactose intolerance.

Throwing up could be GER which can be normal up to a couple of months after birth.
