relation between GERD caused esophagel spasm and vega nerve stimulation

I have a hyatial hernia that has been repaired via surgery and long standing GERD.  I had an MI in 1993 (at 53 yrs).  Recently had what nearly exactly resembled a heart attack and went to the ER.  Dr said it was bile leaking into my stomache that had caused spasms that stimulated the vega nerve.  Scary as hell!  He said to keep track of it and see a gastro Dr.  Really can't afford to see Dr. for financial reasons if it is not absolutely necessary. Question  Is vega nerve stimulation dangerous??

Hi,
No it is not serious as such.

Hello Doctor and thanks for your answer.  As for other symptoms I have long history of GERD that developed into Barrettes esophagus.  Surgery fixed the Hyatal hernia but recently it has loosened and reflux has again become a problem.  I had an experience about six months ago wherein I had pressure and painful tingling in the chest which quickly went up into my neck and both arms.  This came on from initial awareness to full impact in about 4-5 seconds. Symptoms gradually lessened over the next 10 to 15 minutes and then was gone.  During the "attack" I felt I was having another heart attack and went to ER.  ER Dr did very good work up and said it  was esophageal spasm which had stimulated the Vega nerve.  My concern is decision of health vs money.  If these , again "attack", aren't dangerous I can live with them.  Again,  thank you for you help.  Paul
