hi
i have been having pains in the upper right quadrant, after meals it feels like i have golf ball or somones punched me in the rib on the right. i had a ultrsound which was normal and a hida scan showing 8% ejection the dr. said he doesnt see it being a problem and i dont need to get it removed as there are no stones present in my gallbladder.
i still have occasional pains at times but not all the time, i have no stones, my thyroid is fine, i do have mildly high cholestrol which i am working on to lower, what can be causnig my gall bladder to not function wel, i have been told its consistent with acalculous gallbladder as ejection fraction is 8% everything else was fine. the pain isnt soo bad , has been on and off, it dioes feel tender in the gallbladder region, i have also suffered from long term chronic diahrea, could this have been due to my gallbaldder? can smoking ciggerettes or drinking alcohol cause the gallbladder problem? or irritate it? i also feel i may have some kind of food allergy and other allergy can these contribute to it.
other then removing the gallbladder or avoiding certain fatty foods, is there anything else i can do to keep it from hurting at times? i've had this problem for 2 years now and its not seeming to get better , i am planning to go to my dr ask for help, i have heared theres drugs that can be taken to stop spasm or inflamation in the gallbladder in this type of gallbladder disease?
i'd just like to know what possible causes are there for my gallbladder without stones, ive heard its very rare without stones, specially in a male.
