Gall bladder

I am 53 yrs Male residing in Mumbai. I am Hbs Ag + ve since 1998. My father was expired having HCC  in 1998.
Since then I am monitoring SGOT / SGPT, LFT every 6-8 moth. HBV DNA tested Dec.2012 was20 <iu /ml. Hb e Ag  till date -ve. My family is vaccinated by Engirex in 1998. I dont have any specific symptoms except Undigestion and Gases.
Recently in USG there is one 7-8 mm Gall stone observed in Gall bladder. The is intermittent pain at right side end of the Rib.ALSO SOME TIME LOWERBACK PAIN RADIATING TOWARDS SHOULDER AT RIGHT SIDE. Consultancy with gastroeneterolgist reveal that surgery is required. Please suggest any alternate treatment available if any. Also in my case the side effect of not dong  surgery  or after surgery. Please advise also any booster dose required for my family.

Please advice if any alternative such as Ayurvedic / Homeopathy medicine will be effective to dissolve Gall bladder stone. if not What are side effect of the surgery on digest system.

Hi, HbsAg positive or not, you will need surgery for the gallstone. The stones can chronically irritate the gallbladder wall and cause inflammation and pain. Also, this chronic irritation is a predisposing cause for gallbladder cancer. If the stone is placed in the neck of the gall bladder, it can cause retention of bile, with stasis and consequent infection. So, the best option would be to have an elective gallbladder removal.
Anti Hbs levels above 10 IU/L are considered to be protective, so check these values for your family members and if the levels are less than this they may need booster doses. Regards.
