Possible leaky bowel

For over a year I have had a problem with my bowels.  I often find my anus to be dirty many times during the day.  I hope the Doctor can help me with this question.  And of course Every time I have a chance I must wipe myself because there is a soft residue left behind.  Sometimes  my underwear is soiled, other times it's just there.  I know to check when I get an irritating feeling in that area.  Sometimes I have to return to the bathroom  within an hour or so to complete a bowel movment although I felt it was done with. I have tried sitting longer, but that was not successful.
It's much esier to do this anonomously. My internist checked to see if the sphinter was too stretched, but it was fine.  I brought it up to my gastroenterologist, and I was embarrassed because he didn't seem to care much about it,  His only comment was that it sounds like an incomplete bowel movement because all my tests were OK.  By tests I mean colonoscopy and endoscopy.  But all that soiling has to be more than that.    If it is that, what can I do about it?  Should I see a proctologist or another gastro MD.  I need someone who I can feel comfortable with.

Thank you for caring and your good advice.  I think I will give the vaseline a try.  It's better  advice and  more than the doctor gave.

Get a second opinion from a doctor who cares.  There is something causing this and it need to be found.  Keep a little vaseline on your anus to avoid irritation, and you may want to get some of the very small, very thin panty liners for now, until you see the doctor.  Nobody but you will know you're wearing one.  My son had to do this when he had a bacterial infection in his rectum.
