HELP, mild chronic gastritis with chronic nausea :(

I've been sick for almost 2 months now and I've been diagnosed with mild chronic gastritis after doing the endoscopy. I feel nauseous all the time, especially when i'm taking the train. However, i've taken a lot of tests and it proved that I am fine.

However, the doctor prescribed Pariet but it has only a little effect on me. I feel nauseous all the time and taking the antinausea medicine doesnt work very well. I used to be a very happy and hyper person. Now the nausea that is always there, I can't laugh as hard as I want now. I can't make people happy anymore. It has made me a very frustating, bad tempered person. I cry much more easily now.

I have stopped drinking and i'm not a smoker. I've been on a stricter diet now. I'm really sad. is there any way to stop the nausea. Is the nausea actually due to my gastritis. and what is actually 'MILD chronic gastritis' when it is not mild at all.

PLEASE HELP ME. I'm only 16 years going on 17. how am i supposed to survive my years ahead?

Thanks :'(

When I was finally diagnosed with "mild gastritis" they put me on 80mg protonix which took several days to finally start working, upon request I was able to get something called carafate which helps to heal ulcers and can help heal gastritis, it helped a lot, after finally getting out of the hospital (was admitted for 7 days because I was not able to eat and had to have a feeding tube) I started looking for other natural options, because I still had the nausea and the pain would only dissappear for part of the day.
I went into whole foods and the girl working there recommended this stuff called lily of the desert aloe stomach formula, it's a miracle tonic.
I have been off the protonix since getting out of the hospital and drink the aloe stuff before every meal and it works wonders, I also follow a strict diet and don't drink water with my meals.
No tomatoes, low salt foods, non acidic foods, no soda, caffeine, coffee or alcohol.
I have tried banana and coconut water but apparently I am reactive to those even though they seem to work for other people.
It also helps to walk for 10 to 20 minutes after eating then lay down to let my stomach relax.
I still have some anxiety and sometimes slight nausea or dizzyness because I am still recovering from malnutrition but I use an app called myplate to track my calorie intake to make sure that I am eating enough. If your hungry make sure you eat, just space out your meals so you can eat throughout the day.

I was diagnosed with gastritis about 3 weeks ago after dealing with nausea dizzyness, burning stomach and stomach acid coming up after meals for the previous 2 months.
It was a terrible, I lost over 60 pounds and was severly malnourished because I would go days without eating because of the pain and nausea which itself caused a lot of other scary side effects such as heart palpation's and delayed stomach emptying which cause severe abdominal pain from the constipation.
I went to the ER several times because my left arm and chest was in severe pain, I thought I was having a heart attack, but every time the hospital would check my blood and do scans and say it was anxiety, they never asked me if I was eating enough, they never said I need an endoscopy, I had to find that out online and got one as soon as possible.

Zofran helped my nausea and vomitting from gallstones and gall sludge. It was truly a miracle without insurance at the time

Im 38 Mail and I have Chronic Gastritis and the only thing that helps when a flair up happens is Pot....Im on a strick diet and on Protinox but no matter how good I eat I still get flair ups that last weeks and it just wipes me out.    I decided to try pot and went down to the med doctor who gave me a 90 day temp card.  After 2 Hits and 15 minutes later my naseau was gone and I felt happy again.  I smoke a Sativa Strain that gives you energy rather than nock you out.  I don't feel all crazy in the head as Ive been smoking it now for about 3 weeks and now it just gives me back my happiness and gets rid of my naseau for hours.  Nothing on the market works for naseau.  Anyway, I hope this helps

Wow I just had to comment on your post. I was diagnosed about 9years ago with gastritis and acid reflux. I have been on several PPI's over the years ending up on Nexium which seemed to work well for me. It took me months to stop feeling nausea and had to take a leave from my job. I eventually got better until a month ago and the nausea started again. My doctor is puzzled but he did mention that Nexium can cause it. Mmmm well he put me on famotidine and I only took it for 3 days and was so sick that I almost went to the emergency room. I started back on the nexium (it is like a security blanket to me) I felt so much better after an hour after taking the nexium. I went for an ekg and I have had blood work all negative. I don't have pain just discomfort so I am guessing it is the gastritis again. In the very beginning, years ago went to a Gastro doc. and he did the endoscopy but he was no more use than my GP and just told me to keep on the PPI. My GP told me last week that Nexium can cause problems so now I am at a loss as to what to do. I still get nausea but not as badly as I did.  I still have no life and have stopped going to the gym or driving because of the nausea. If anyone has any tips please feel free and I would be glad to hear them. I have used Manuka Honey before meals and I grate fresh ginger and pour water onto it and let it steep so that it is strong. Put it into a jar and use a tablespoon of the juice when the nausea hits. help or advice anyone about Nexium would be appreciated.

I am also 16 and I have had gastritis for 8 months. I had the upper endoscopy done and was recently hospitalized because of the severity of the gastritis and I lost 20+ lbs. Unfortunately, I'm here, extremely frustrated, and back where I started. I'M SO NAUSEOUS ALL OF THE TIME.It's ruining my daily life and I'm desperate to find a cure(Zofran, promethazine, ginger, etc. are all temporary relief). I'm wondering if gastritis does go away...?

I am 65 years old and have NEVER had a problem as debilitating as this one.  I was on Bactrim, an antibiotic, for 10 days and woke up a couple days later with extreme nausea and some dizziness/spacey kind of feeling.  I finally got an endoscopy two months later this past Nov 20 and was diagnosed with gastritis and esophagitis and put on Nexium 40mg once a day.  It seemed to work quite well for about 5 or6 weeks, then, bam!, I am back to being nauseous every day to varying gedrees.  I am again taking anti nausea and anti anxiety pills because all this has made me so anxious about my future.  I was a happy healthy and very active person before this.  The first three months I stayed home except to go to doctors appts and have tests run, since I also had dizziness.  I have had all possible ear tests, an eye exam, a hida scan for the gallbladder, an abdominal and pelvic CT scan, an MRI of the brain, a CT scan on my sinuses, and an endoscopy and colonoscopy!
Does anyone ever get over the nausea?  I have cut out all coffee, alchohol, spicey foods, etc.  I have read where Nexium can actually cause gastritis.  Is that what happened to me?  Did it clear up the gastritis only to cause it again?

Hi
I'm a 21 year old girl and I had an inflamed stomach since september. I'm wondering how you've handled this and whether you got better or not since 2010.
I have the exact same symptoms as you did with the same meds.
I started treatment on october and it seemed to work for a while, but now the terrible nausea is back, it affects my sleep and my activites.
Have you any advise for me?

Omg, thank you very much! because normally I'm a very positive and level headed. But due to the nausea, I've become really pessimistic, especially towards myself. And I feel nauseous all the time, which is really bad. And I feel like a burden towards my family. However, my Mom actually brought me to a chinese doctor. Which actually diagnosed that my missed periods are the cause of my nausea. (I wonder if it's true) but i decided to give it a try and the chinese medicine tastes really horrible. Hmm, I will try to go back to my regular exercises but I feel nauseous all the time hence I stay home all the time.

However, the chinese doctor said that my gastritis has been cured. But I still feel nauseous. And I PRAY that it is my missed period that actually has been causing this. So it means when it comes, I will definitely be fine! Anw THANKS ALOT ALOT ALOT for the support and the good advices. I still have the nausea now, which is damn bad. I still can laugh as loud as I want.

BTW, does missed periods actually cause nausea?

also i've been through tests myself. 1. gastric emptying scan, barium x-ray, even had blood tested, and endoscopy (wich is how they found my gastritis ). but trust me it can very well be releived. i haven't made any good choices. i drink, smoke, eat junk, etc. and now im reaping the rewards. make sure you eat low-fat and high fiber. and absolutely very little non caffeinated beverages. i know its a lot to go through, but at least your not on an 8 yr spree like i am. its too late for me, BUT NOT FOR YOU. i wish you all the best and i hope you succed..

well i actually haven't been to surgery yet, you see i had a cck scan and found out that my gallbladder only works 15%, so basicaly its failed. i have no choice but get it removed the 20th. as for nausea i've been told already by my surgon that i should have much less nausea once this procedure is completed. sadly enough the gastritis will still cause mild discomfort. i have been on ppi meds for the past 2 years. they seem to help alot with reflux. alright so gastritis doesn't last forever, but i must tell you chronic gastritis unfortunately may take a couple months to releive. i've had mine so long only because i haven't changed my lifestyle. to get rid of it you must take it suriously(and i know you are.) please start eating and drinking the most healthy you can. drink all natural teas and also drink lots of water tap or not. also keep excercising if your not because it will boost your immune system. lastly chamimile tea and ginger pills are very good with nausea. you may also try meditation.

hello, i have had mild chronic gastritis and gerd both for the past 8 years. i know exactly what your describing. although yes gastritis does cause nausea ALL THE TIME trust me i feel your pain, the docs found out that actually chronic digestive issues like gastritis can cause gallbladder malfunction. i got my gallbladder tested and it barely works and come to find out it causes more nausea than gastritis does. please go and get your gallbladder tested because it could be a major contributor to your nausea.

I too have chronic nausea and had an endoscopy done along with a ct scan. My results showed nothing therefore my dianosis is still a mystery. I too had to give up drinking which ***** and now barely hang out with friends. My dr has me on zofran and phenergan as needed for the nausea. For the most part the pills work but the nausea always returns. A few things that help my nausea is chewing peppermint gum or drinking canada dry gingerale. I hope this can help for you as well. Also I would get a second opinion because you are so young. If you get this under control or find a cure please let me know.....
