8 year old with stool issue

Hi ~ I have an 8 soon to be 9 year old son who has a problem with stool that comes out (only a little) and he says he doesn't know it is there or that it came out.  He soils his underwear but again it is just a small amount but it happens quite frequently.  He doesn't have any issues with holding his stool at all.  He has a bowel movement everyday and sometimes twice a day. His stools seem normal as far as I can tell.  No diarrhea nor are they too hard.  He does however have a hemeroid which he has had since he was a toddler.  Our physician said that would never go away.  It doesn't hurt him at all.  I am not sure why he has these occasional stool accidents and I am concerned that he doesn't even know that he has soiled himself.  Can you tell me what might be happening here??  Thanks  ~ JJ

Thank you so much!  I never thought of that but it makes alot of sense.  I am going to get him in to see the doctor over Christmas break.  ")

JJ, it could be a problem with the hemorrhoid. It's possible it may not allow the muscles to close completely and some small amounts of fecal material 'leak' a bit along with some mucus.
