Achalasia

I have had vigorous Achalasia and Zenker's Diverticulum.  And for this  I have had Heller myotomy and Toupet
fundoplication this for the achclasia and open crycopharyngeal myotomy for the Zenker's..  I still take nexium 40 mg
twice a day.  I still feel like am choking, having chest pains and spit up liquids like 10 to 15 times straight then it
skips a few days and starts back.  Any other friends have this problem?  Any help would be great.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Have you had the fundoplication checked to make sure it hasn't come undone?  Have you tried other PPI's besides Nexium?

Dexilant is very similar to all the other meds you have tried.  If the wrap has come undone that could cause you to spit up liquids.  An endoscopy should be able to tell if the wrap is loose.

I will be having another endo on march the 15th, hoping they can tell me something.  Also I have tried protonix, prevacid, prilosec and nexium.
I see that there is a new drug called Dexilant.  Do you know anything about
this?  Also if the wrap has come undone would that cause me to spit up
just liquids?  Thanks for your reply.
