Ascites (maybe) questions?

Ascites (maybe) questions?

A couple of questions regarding ascites-

1) Would sweating help reduce the volume of ascites fluid?  Such as sitting in a sauna or exercising?  Or, because the fluid is trapped in the peritoneal cavity, would it not be "accessible" to sweat out?

2) I can hear and feel fluid sloshing around in my stomach if I make an almost "belly-dancer" like motion.  It's faint if I haven't had anything to eat or drink but after consuming fluids it's verrry noticeable.  Is this normal?

The amount of ascites will not be impacted by exercising or sitting in a sauna. If you have been diagnosed with ascites, it's being produced because of some 'process' that is going on within your abdominal cavity - it's fluid that's outside of your organs not within an organ like the stomach.

If you're hearing a fluid slosh, check with your doc to find out where the fluid is and it cause.

Thanks!

Turns out it was just a slowed gastric emptying due to dehyrdation (which was also causing my headache).  Got an IV and now everything is grand.
