CONSTANT NAUSEA

This is crazy, FINALLY a bunch of people that know what im talking about! I have been nauseous for probably around a year, EVERYDAY! I am 29 M. I have been to serveral doctors and they say everything looks fine with me. I feel like saying "Well...I DONT FEEL FINE!" Its so frustrating because it really affects my quality of life, feeling like your gonna throw up any second. Ive figured out that it is the worst in the morning and around 6PM, although I am atleast a little nauseous the whole day. The nausea has affected my appitite so much that the only way I can eat is if i smoke marijuana before. I with throw up sometimes but usually i just gag when it gets real bad. I dont understand how the doctors have no idea what could cause me to have such severe nausea ALL THE TIME. I figured I would eventually find a doctor that would say "yeah you probably have this..." or "you might have this...." but so far I havent even gotten that yet. It *****! it makes you not want to do anything, who wants to go out when they feel like they are gonna throw up? I would do ANYTHING to fix this problem but I dont know what i can do, my only hope is that one day I find a doctor that knows what this is. To everyone that posted I FEEL YOUR PAIN! ;)

It seems logical to search for the cause of chronic nausea in the GI tract so it isn't surprising for doctors to start here. When nothing unusual is found, it is frustrating that many times doctors can't think outside of the box for other possibilities. I do not personally have chronic nausea to the extent of many on this thread but I do have chronic pain where nausea has been an ever increasing issue. Just a little background, I am a bioengineer at UCSF with a research concentration in neurological diseases. In other words, I am not a medical doctor and being that I work with medical doctors, I have learned that this can be a benefit. Many M.D.s differ from engineers in that they are not wired with this need to solve problems and to search, to research, to drive towards solutions. Sadly, it seems that patients are then left with no answers and no relief resulting is low quality of life. As a patient myself, I wanted to share that a proactive thing to do is become an assertive patient; research as much as you can from "deep" sources. By this I mean sources that are deeper in content than what a google search will turn up. Personally I have purchased medical texts from sites like amazon. Granted there is a learning curve, but if you have seen too many doctors who are clueless, where when plan A fails and there is no plan B, you are now your best resource. Okay, said a lot.

The main reason I wanted to comment was to suggest a possible source of nausea. I have seen no one discuss inner ear issues. There is an organ in the inner ear that is responsible for equilibrium and spatial orientation and if there is a problem like inner pressure, then nausea can result. I would be interested if anyone had a doctor bring this up or if you inquire about the possibility, what your doctors might say.

Sorry for such a lengthy post. Good luck to all of you and I hope you find relief.

I have chronic pancreatitis. My first symptom for months was just constant nausea. And it hardly ever shows up in labs or scans. I have had it for years and It has only showed up in labs a few times. And never in a ct scan.
