I am 67 yrs old and take a variety of medications. Many of my conditions are related to post-Graves Disease. Ten years ago I had my gallbladder out after an attack of acute pancreatitis. I subsequently developed chronic pancreatitis and was diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi. Rather than have the invasive surgery I went on a strict, fresh chicken soup diet with supplements ordered by an Ayruvedic doctor. Within 2 years I was completely recovered and could eat anything. However, last year I began to develop symptoms of pain in the center and left quadrant of my upper abdomen, nausea, mild weight loss. I would feel sick if I ate and sick if I didn't. I cut back to a very limited diet of fresh cooked foods, mainly poultry and vegetables, fruit and flat breads. I have improved symptom-wise except when under stress. However, my Amylase continues to be elevated and I am concerned, as is my doctor, about chronic pancreatitis leading to pancreatic cancer. I do not drink Alcohol and have not for 20 years. Can you offer any ideas for cause of the pancreatic enzyme elevation and treatments? Thank you
