I have had a constant dull upper and mid right quadrant pain for the last 5 months. The pain is more of an annoyance and sometimes hurts when I bend or twist my body. Sometimes, it feels like gnawing or pinching. No nausea or vomiting. No significant changes in bowel movements. I’ve had IBS for over 10 years so nothing out of the ordinary. I thought maybe it was the gallbladder or appendix at first, however, I’m not quite sure. I’ve been to my primary three times for the issue. 1st trip, he prescribed omeprazole then scheduled an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed no issue with gallbladder, kidneys, appendix or liver. Liver only shows a hemangioma that has not gotten bigger since 2019. My pancreas was obscured. I also had normal blood work except for calcium which was 10.3 but my doctor wasn’t concerned. After no changes after 8 weeks of omeprazole, I was changed to protonix 2x daily. No changes after a few weeks, I went back to the dr because I started to feel right side back pain. He referred me to a GI which is in two weeks.
Has anyone had or heard of this issue? What are some things I should make sure the GI does or looks for?
