Diarrhea

I need some clarification with regards to diarrhea? I have always been constipated (max 3x a week ) when I was younger then about 5 years ago I started taking psyllium husk and Benefiber which did help. Stool started being soft and I would go daily.
Lately I have stopped taking both (2weeks) but it seems stools are still having the same soft consistency (not watery but really soft) is this normal, I would assume that it should have gone back to me being constipated. Same frequency though once everyday in the morning.
Recently I got some anxiety with regards to possible exposure to STD/HIV and a symptom is diarrhea that is why I am inquiring if indeed what I am experiencing is indeed diarrhea.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Sometimes the effect of increased fiber will stay with you for a while.  Also, your constipation may have gotten better from 5 years ago.  Symptoms don't matter for HIV, and if you believe you might have a STD, you should get tested.  I don't think the continued soft stools is anything to worry about.
