Colon removal postponed due to a stomach problem-gastreoperisis?

I am a 21 year old female and I was supposed to have my colon removed, actually, today for slow transit chronic constipation and pain due to it and have my small intestine attached to my rectum to avoid a bag.  I was hospitalized last week due to intense stomach pain and my surgeon saw the x-rays and called and said she had decided to postpone surgery because my stomach was extremely distended, swollen, and full of air fluid and masses of undigested food.  This concerned her; she gave me a name for what it might be, and said that surgery would have been unsuccessful if we never found out about this.  I was wondering if anyone has any of these problems whether it’s the slow transit constipation, colon removal, or this mysterious stomach problem I am new to.  Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you

Brittany

Brittany, I'm not sure about the prevalence of both upper and lower GI dysmotility, but I understand it can be found in individuals with disorders such as systemic scleroderma. Have you been tested for disorders within that category by any chance?

Have you been tested for food allergies?  I see you have celiac disease.  Do you stick to the diet?  And have you ever tried removing all (I mean all) cow's milk products - from butter to sour cream to cheese and milk?  Because where there is a gluten problem, there is usually a milk problem.

Have you ever had your stomach acid levels checked?  You need hydrochloric acid to start the digestive process in the stomach.  Not enough acid can lead to many problems and deficiencies.  Have you been checked for a B12 deficiency - especially important for the nervous system?  Nerves are crucial to all body functions.  Have they determined what exactly is causing your intestinal problems - hormonal, nervous system problems, metabolic deficiency, food allergies?  Any extra information would help. We would love to take this problem away from you.  I hope someone is able to help.  Let us know what tests have been done and what they've found.
