Hi, I am a 37 yr old womanWomen's way in pretty good health. Just recently I passed a kidney stone (3mm) very small compared to others I've passed, but much more painfulPainful menstrual periods. During the time I was passing the stone (the stone was in the right ureterCancer - renal pelvis or ureter Reflux nephropathy Ureterocele Vesicoureteral reflux) I began to experience pain on my back to the left of my spine, along with abdominal pain and nausea. After passing the stone I felt instant relief, but a few hours later I began to experience the back pain, abdominal pain and nausea again. The Dr. ruled out kidney stones. What could it be? I have constant pain, and the nausea is brought on with even a sip of water.
PS: No chance I'm pregnant, I've had a hysterectomyHysterectomy Hysterectomy - series, but do have my ovaries.
Hi Fuzzz, thanks for your concern. I had a urine culture and renal & bladder ultrasound both were normal. My urologist saids that there isnt much else she can do for me and suggested I go to a GI Dr. I have already been to the GI Dr. (prior to my kidney stone attack) and had a upper GI endoscopy (I think thats what its called) and a CT w/contrast, and colonoscopy, all came back normal. Last week I decided to start taking probiotics and I am feeling better, but I cannot miss taking it a single day because the nausea and pain returns.
have you gotten this problem figured out? i hope so but i once had a bladder infection after i got kidney stones that was very painful with all the same symptoms ask your doctor the check that out!
