Enemas and Liver

I just found out from my doctor that my liver levels are elevated. My holistic boyfriend has recommended that I start taking enemas (plain water with an enema bag) to clean out my system. Is this safe?

Hanging in there, diet and the enzymes seem to help some, but you know it's still nagging in there.

I'd 2nd checking out with your doctor.  There's good bacteria inside and you don't want to be washing those out.  Milk thistle is supposed to be great for livers.  It's something to ask your doctor though.

Melinda - how are you doing?  Hope you are having some 'good days'!

im not sure, but it's not something that i would want to start doing, make sure you talk to your doc first.  Try 400 iu's of vitamin E.  I have NASH ( no alcoholic steato hepatitis)  basically a fatty liver with inflamation, have had elevated liver levels for almost 6 years.  My doc recomends that along with a low fat diet.  Try it, it should help.
