If you've been diagnosed as a type 3 SOD, and an ERCP was done in the past for diagnosis or some form of treatment, why are they suggesting the ERCP? Type 3 is diagnosed as biliary-type pain but normal liver tests and common bile duct diameter so an ERCP would be considered as something that should be avoided.
Yes, you definitely should have this done. It will allow the doctor to view the gallbladder and remove a stone that may be present and causing pain...check out the bile ducts and pancreas. If the is narrowing of a duct they can put in a stent to open it up and ease the pain. I hope this helps and good luck to you.
