The bladder needs to move forward to hold urine, and drop slightly backward to be able to be in position to release urine. The bladder has a series of muscles/ligaments that support it and help with positioning and movement. It's possible that there may be compromise in the positioning and movement of the bladder. You may want to consider checking with someone who is trained in pelvic floor dysfunction and/or visceral manipulatio of the pelvic floor. At any age, changes can be made that can help urinary function/positioning. Age has nothing to do with it. Dysfunction can occur at any age. Check with specifically-trained PT's or check the IAHP website for someone highly skilled in visceral manipulation.

I thank patient9 as well for responding my message. I do kege exercoses for strengthening pelvic floor. Since last two days I am massaging the whole abdomen in rotarary fashion, twice a day for two minutes. This was recommended by a Chinese doctor for constipation. I think i feel some improvement in two days. I will know with in a week  whether this    visceral manipulation improves my condition. I do yoga, acupressure, shiatsu massage of abdomen, I think your suggestion of visceral massage is applicable in this condition. I will explore further in this direction. I came across one suggestion the one teaspoonful of ginger juice with sugar before retiring will normalize urinating. I will try that also. The doctor ususally say that at 80, with insomnia, you do more frequent urination. Sombody suggested, at every 10 years after 60, you do add one extra visit two bath room. Any way we have to fight whether it is age related or some alignment related.
I have also observed when i am tense, I have more frequent visit to bathroom. As it was not a major problem, i did not bother to rectify. I continue to treat now. Thanks.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  As you age, the bladder becomes less elastic and it just doesn't function the way it used to.  The only way to deal with this is to drink less in the evening.  Good luck.
