GPEG tube assistance

Has anyone found a good cleaning brush for my peg tube? Also I’ve had mine for 2years and if any newbie has any questions I’d be glad to help.

Can you tell us more about it? Any tips?

#1 My advice only take it or not:
The stoma will probably blister because of the rubbing of the tube against your skin. They will tell you to use a Cortizone 10 around the tube. In my experience and my friends this does not work. They will also tell you to put gauze or pad under the base of the tube. This actually rubs the area more. They’ll probably tell you to tape it down. For me this is all been a negative. When the tube is not hanging right it can be quite painful and I think it is different for each user. Mine likes to hang down like a limp noodle. The blister hurts plus I don’t think it’s  healthy. After alot of trial and error I found the one solution that works for me. I wash the area with clean water and soap, pat it dry with a Kleenex and disinfect around the hole. I use Teatree oil as  it’s a great antiseptic and a great lubricant. Antiseptic ointment works just not as well. And here’s the  weird trick: I put large gloops of zinc oxide (yep the old time med) around the base of the tube and the skin around where it gets raw. In a few days this will absorb the liquid from the blister and prevent another one.  I put a small cosmetic cotton pad under the base. This will get a little crusty as it absorbs the blister fluid. (You cut a small hole in it to fit around the tube) and put one on top of the base because of the zinc oxide will ooze through the holes of the base.
With trial error you’ll find what works best for you. Mine likes to hang down like a wet noodle. On mine there is a gap between the upper base and the skin. When I taped this down it made the tube stand straight up and any pressure to hold it down made it very painful. My tube looks like a mess but it is clean, no sores or chaffing and mostly of all no discomfort and is barely noticeable under clothes. This is all trial and error for each user.
I have more hints about the tube holder etc if you are interested.
It took me over a year to figure mine out because I found no advice anywhere. Weird as it sounds it works wonders for me.
Check Amazon - I did a quick search and they came up with some possibilities.  I don’t have this rude, so you’d have to decided if it’s what you need.
Possibilities for a brush? I’ll look again. Maybe they have some new ones! Thanks
