Gagging all the time!!

Okay, whenever I eat anything I will start gagging. It is worse in the morning when i am woken up, at dinner, I also gag when I work out. It feels like there is mucus is stuck in my throat. My doctor told me that all it was, was acid reflex but the medicine he percribed has not help my gagging at all. Does anyone have any ideas what else this gagging may be caused by?

i have recently been suffering for 3 months of not being able to clear my throat or cough anything up, i tried everything, antibiotics, steam inhalation, cough medicine etc and then i found what the problem was, it was my ears, i had Otitis Externa, ear infection, (for 3 months!) that was draining fluids down my throat causing the feeling that i needed to clear my throat but couldn't, i was given otomize ear spray, steroid antibiotic anti flamatory spray and from the 1st time of using it, it all cleared up, it was a blessing as i thought i would be suffering with this problem for a lot longer, if you have the same problems as i was having please get your ears checked out     Did you find this post useful?  332  146 Posted: 11/20/06 8:39 PM

I also developed the same problems as you. It all started 2-3 weeks ago when i was hit hard in my hockey game, and my throat was somewhat "swollen" for 2 days after, and ever since then, Ive had times where I gag for no reason, but at first it felt like there was mucus stuck in my throat and i puked several times. Its gotten to the point that when I leave for school, i get nervous and i dont want to go because I dont want to start gagging in class, or in public. I cant live with this, and idk what is causing it. Ive tryed sucking on lifesavers a few times, and they seem to help, but i dont like eating lots of candy, so it gets annoying. What should i do??? My doctor also said post-nasal drip, but i highly doubt that. Suggestions please!

I gag alot in the morning without eating anything, or late at night. I believed it was mucus too. But I'm not sure with this gallbladder stuff I experience all the time. Did you have gallbladder surgery? I'm reading alot of these.

I have the same problem and Nexium did not work. Did Nexium work for you? Have you tried anything else? Did it work?

I have the same problem. But also triggers my cough.
The Doc that I saw today told me that it could be acid reflux.
