Please help me. I had my gall bladder our 9-12-09. I am throwing up bile along with having dirreah. THe surgeon says sometimes it takes awhile. I have already lost 18 lbs. I eat very bland items. No one seems to act like this is a big problem. However, my husbands 93 yr old uncle just recently had his out and they put drains in him and sent him home for a week with him before they took them out. He is doing great. Eats whatever he wants. I had no drains. Where was all that stuff supposed to go? I have had 2 back surgeries and am in excruciating pain but no one can do anything about that until I get over this. Help Help
This is NOT normalNormal saline flush, and yes, it may take some time to stabilize small issues after surgery, and what you're experiencing is NOT a small issue. Ask the doc to do and MRCP and check your liver and pancreatic enzymes - and make sure those levels are checked withing 24 hours of an 'attack' of intense pain - otherwise they can end up looking normalNormal saline flush.
You're going to have to be pushy about this. Make sure you get tested. There could be a number of reasons for why this is happening including some 'sludge or stones' being lost into the commonCommon cold bile duct during surgery and that could cause quite a few problems.
