Gallbladder attack?????

I am not sure but I think I may have had a gallbladder attack yesterday.  I had this very, very bad sharp aching pain in the middle of my stomach (epigastric region).  It came on all of a sudden and lasted about 2 1/2 hours then was gone.  It was constant but at points become real intense.  When it was intense it felt like the pain was in my jaw on the right side also.  I also felt neauseous but this started after awhile of having the pain.  From what I have been reading online it sounds like a gallbladder attack to me.

Yesterday and today I had diarrhea right after eating lunch.  This has been happening to me at different points for almost a year now, anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes after eating.

My question though - now that I feel fine should I call my doctor or just wait and see if it happens again.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thanks guys for your responses!

I really don't think what I experienced was heart related because it was the right side of my jaw and not the left.  I think I am pretty healthly, 5'3" and 112 lbs. and eat well, not really any red meat, mostly pasta or fish and lots of salads or veggies with some fruits.  Probably the worse thing we do is eat out usually one night a week - but even that I try to get a salad when I can.  And, it started roughly 1 - 2 hours after eating - salmon and rice.

I wasn't sure if a gallbladder attacks occur over and over again, how close from each attack, and if they progressively get worse.  What I experienced was bad, had me a bit worried but wasn't as bad as when I had a kidney stone blockage (throwing up, fever, chills, unbelievable pain worse than child birth).

But, I did call my dr office the other day and asked the nurse if a gallbladder attack deserved a visit or if it was something that I should wait to see if it happens again.  She said she couldn't make that call for me that I had to decide.  So, I said I would like an appointment - she then said the computer was down and could I call the next day!  Well, I haven't called back yet but I will when I get a chance.

Take it from someone who knows.....please go and see a doctor!  Sometimes those gallbladder attacks can cause some serious damage if not seen or taken care of.

I have to agree with crambone, depending on your age, and general health, the jaw pain might very well be enough of an indicator coupled with your epigastric pain to initiate cardiac testing by your primary care physician.

jaw pain has nothing to do with gallbladder,,,heart issues caould cause the center epigastric pain,,,and the jaw pain.
