Problems Post Cholecystecomy

I am 34 years old and had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically in May 2010. Since the surgery I have been experiencing upper abdominal pain that will go away for maybe a few weeks at a time but then return. I also have been experiencing nausea after eating again ( I had this symptom prior to the surgery) for the last month or so. I have chronic diarrhea and cramping after eating and quite often my stools are yellowish in color. Back in November 2010 my amylase and lipase levels were elevated and my potassium level was low (I had this symptom prior to surgery as well) I often feel extremely fatigued as well. In the last few weeks I have also noticed a recurring tingling sensation in my hands, feet and around my mouth ( I don't know if that is relevant)
My doctor has given me medication to treat the diarrhea (questran) which just made me constipated. My doctor is now trying a medicine to help with the pain I guess (sucralfate suspension) He seems to think the bile acids arebacking up into my stomach and that is what is causing the problems. I guess I would just like another opinion on this and whether or not you think other testing is necessary and should be pursued.

They can double check the function of your gallbladder by doing a HIDA scan... there is other gallbladder diseases without stones, trust me on this, I had every test you can think of that came back negative until the HIDA scan... do you find when you eat low fat diet you feel better?

About three months ago I had an ultrasound to check for any gallstones that might be blocking the pancreatic duct. They found nothing. No I have not had ERCP or MRCP, no one has even suggested that. I do take antacid pills, I have had GERD for several years.
@ CalGal
I try to follow a low fat diet. I don't always do well with that though. I am not having any rashes and I am not aware of anyone in my family with food intolerances.

In addition to what the previous poster said, are you also following a low fat diet?

In addition to the fatigue and the tingling, are you experiencing any rashes? Anyone in your family with food intolerance issues?

Have they checked your bile ducts?  ERCP?  Or an MRCP, just to make sure there is no narrowing or blockage?  Do you take any anti-acid pills?  Like Nexium etc?
