H Pylori arthritis link

Hello Doctor.
I read that H pylori lowers stomach acid, which leads to increased calcum levels in the blood and degenarative diseases ( calcification and bone spurs).  H. Pylori infections can also lead to  iron-deficiency anemia.  Is that true?
Source: http://www.acu-cell.com/dis-hpy.html

I have H pylori for years. I am 35 years old woman. I tried antibiotics to treat H pylori but that did not help and caused yeast infections. I have chronic yeast infections for the last 5 years. Sometimes every month  after ovulation or before menstruation, sometimes they go away for few months. I also have back pain that flares up every 2 years or so for the last 6 years. About 6 months abo i developed iron deficiency anemia and osteoartitis in my foot and now my wrist is hurting for last 4 months . I suspect it is also osteoarthritis. After taking iron my anemia is under control, ferratin levels are low ( they went up from 2 to 8).  That fits with the above explanation of what H pylori causes.

I have undreactive thyroid since I was 18 and i take l troxin for that. It was originaly overactive and they killed it and put me on drugs for the rest of my life. I was too young to fully understand the consequences when I agreed to that. I also suffer from mild atypical depression. I decided not to take medication because of the side effects.

I can not find a doctor who would put all of my symptoms together and help me with treatement. There is obviously something wrong with me and I am tired of being given unefective meds for this symptom or that symptom. Even to get tested for H Pylori I had to say that I have stomach problems. ( I am asymptomatic). I had a colonoscopy last month and my colon is very healthy.

Thank you for reading.

Hi, I looked up Mastic Gum and the web is either gummastic.com or masticgum.com and it will explain it. From what I am reading it kills the H Pylori. How do you get tested for that? My digestive system went haywire over the summer and I am still battling issues with it........thank you.........and God bless you.........:-)

What is mastic gum?
I'm interested in anything that can at least keep it from reoccuring.  I understand that once you have it you always it but from experience it make you more vulnerable to other bacterial infections.

any other comments?

I am thinking of taking mastic gum to treat H pylori. I took antibiotics before and they did not help at all.

H pylori is something I've dealt with for years (late 30's and now 56) and understand that once you have it - your system will never be free of it.  I've recently leant it disrupts the entire digestive system which is where I am seeing the calcuim issues and iron.  Have your physician check your D & A vitamins if you can.  Even though I've always taken suppliments I am still deficient.  It has to do with the small intestin.  I've had the upper GI which is simply the stomach avenues but recently read that these can't view the small intestin but the mini camera's can.  My insurance won't cover the camera capsules but I'm at a point to where I will pay it out of pocket to have this done as my worst fear is stomach cancer from not addressing the bacteria invade our system.  It appears that all of these deficiency's lead to liver issues.

Keep in mind that presciption yeast infections med's affect the liver.  I've no clue how or why but we elliminate one issue and can gain another.  This could be part of the back pain but the back pain is also related to the stomach as well.  When the stomach is having havack it can hurt horrible in your back but so can the liver.

The one stablizer to my stomach for this grief was two tablets of Previcad - each are or were 20 mg.  Two did the trick due to a relaxer that isn't in most of the other over the count med's.  It became my best friend for a while and still rely on it now and then.  This was what recommend by a physician and was the only thing that was working when I had the serious attacks.  The acid seem to be creating the attacks.  I found that taking two tabs ever ten hours controled the acid.  It was like a clock.

I've understood that once you start taking Thyroid then your system rely's upon it and it's a life time commitment.  If there are Thyroid issues I'd really recommend you find a center for Women to evaluate your hormones, estrogen and progestron.  Some centers say they can't do it but it can be done.  There is a balance that has to be met as DEPRESSION is a given.  It could be that if your hormonal balance isn't right.  When our system is dealing with other stressor our system shuts down - hormones.  They get confused and can only handle so much.  If you have the opportunity check out the blog.rmghc.com as it is loaded with info for Women and Men.  Since my digestive system isn't working for me I will be trying the hormonal creams to find the right balance.  My hormonal levels were evaluated by blood tests so we know what is and what isn't.  Other physician's did Thyroid test and said 'you are okay' well come to find out this center found it was UNDERactive  with no progrestrone and limited estrogen - all create horrid depression and illness when you aren't digesting even the right foods and suppliments.

The center I've mentioned is Rocky Mountain GYN & Hormone Center and in Idaho.  Hopefully this site won't block this out but it is very informational for women especially.  It's a nightmare trying to find what's right but when you know something is wrong don't give up.
