I had laparoascpic surgery last Wednesday at 1PM, woke at 4:30PM and went home at 7:30PM. Pain wasn't bad at all. Just difficult to raise up when lying down, hard to turn over, get out of bed, etc. Took pain pills the first night and then Tylenol the next 2 days. Walked around the yard several times every day without a problem. Good on Friday but Saturday I was much better. Today I was up a lot, went to the grocery store, etc. Feeling faily normal. I can eat foods without any pain. Not eating heavy, but still not real hungry anyway. Constipated from pain pills the first day. Took a softener the last two days and hoping that clears up tomorrow. I won't see my DR. until Thursday, but bet I will be feel well enough to work sooner than that.
It depends on many factors. Some people get better in less than a week, others suffer for their entire lives. However, the numbers are in our favor. Almost 90%of people recover in about 10 to 20 days. For the unlucky 10 % the road will be bumpy and long. Another thing; you can't evaluate your feeling better chances based on these kind of forum discussions. The way I see it, you only see people in pain who chat on these forums so you may be under the impression that we are all goners. The truth is that once your problem is solved, like 90% of the lucky individuals, you will probably never want to return to this place of disease and suffering. It's human nature. And guess what? it feels good to be among the healthy ones! Hope to never hear from you after your surgery!!!! :)))
